Lupe: Food and Liquor 2
As I wrote earlier in the week that FNL2 will be released. At first I was not sure about it when I looked over the the track list and I say names like heart donor. Once I really got a good listen to the tracks I convinced that Lupe was back. Not that he really went any where but he started giving me those lyrics or metaphors that you might not catch on the first listen. My favorite thus far comes in Put Em Up, " super like Karrine Dome".
This cd will for sure be in rotation for a while. Even it's me just trying to catch the crazy metaphors that Lu drops.

Lupe Fiasco's Food and Liquor 2: The great American Rap Album Part 1
Tomorrow marks the release date for Lupe's 4th studio album. After going with The Cool and Lasers as album titles, Lupe returns to the Food and Liquor title series. As a huge lupe fan I hope the flows return to that style as well. Many people say that nothing compares to your first album. Typically that has been correct. But if any artist has the skill or the ability to go back to his origin, it's Fiasco. Coming out with singles like Bitch Bad and Lamborghini Angels. Created a huge buzz for the project. With a song entitled Bitch Bad of course there is going to be questions. But of course with Lupe not being your A typical rapper he has a very interesting approach to bring light to a word that is so heavily used in the hip hop community.
After the Bitch Bad single, Lupe releases the video for Lamborghini Angels. One that makes me think about how many artist really "fake it until they make it". Lupe rides around the West Side of Chicago in a new Lamborghini. Only to return the car at the end of the video to the luxury rental dealership. Of course you get the classic Lupe flow but you also get the message that everything you see is not reality. Well at least that's my take on it.
I can't wait to hear the whole album on tomorrow. Check out the simple album cover (below). No fluff, no gimmicks. There is not even a picture of him on the cover. It's simple, It's clean, It's LUPE.

New Song: I'm a Fool By J. Cole
New J. Cole released yesterday. Sounds Like J. Cole reaches out to Cee Lo on this one.. Not really a fan of the hook. But the song is ok at best. If you know cole you know the song is filled with tons of metaphors and one liners. . But this feels really laid back. At first I really was not feeling it but after about 5 listens its started to grow on me. Not a bad song but I wish it had more energy..
Don't forget to go pick up that Cruel Summer Tomorrow..

New Single By Kendrick Lamar Feat. Young Jezzy
The name of the song is Westside, Right on Time... Kendrick always comes with great beats. Adding Jezzy to the track just makes it better. (Jezzy has come along way from "patty cake patty cake microwave.")That Kendrick cd is going to be a banger. And it should be dropping soon. He is featured on a ton of stuff but still many people dont know about him. Really a dope artist. Not sure who he reminds me of. He really does have his own style of flow.. Its funny because one moment you think he is not riding the beat then the next he is right on point and it all comes together.. But I'm not sure if this going to get radio play but still a good track.
Let me know what you think..
