This blog is to inform those that don't have a clue about the many sides of HipHop. It's contents come from the prespective of the common hiphop enthusiast... I'm not in the industry. I'm just a guy that loves the hiphop culture. I write this for those looking to hear other things besides the 10 songs on repeat on any HipHop station you hear.
I was listening to Shade 45 today and there was guest on there named Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.. And I must say that I was very surprised. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis were part of a Sway in the morning Concert. During this on air concert they played a few songs, Thrift shop, same love and another track that I cant think of right now. But all of them were dope. When I went to youtube to see if there was a video for the songs. Of course there was a video for the songs but here is the thing. There were over 7 million hits on one song and 18 million hits on the other . DAMN am I late to the party or what. After listening to the songs a few times I started to catch a few of the metaphors and what not. But then it i released something else. Dude is white. Its not as if that matters but from the flow I heard on Sway in the morning there is no way you could tell. Aside from the absents of the N word, you would never know. I'm looking forward to seeing what else comes out from Macklemore.. Very Very dope artist..
Normally I don't put sports up on the blog. But certain players in the NBA you know go hard. There are certain people that would do good on the AND 1 mixtape (if that was still around) and Jamal Crawford is one of those players. For years I have been saying that he has one of the best crossovers in the game and already this year he has gotten two great high lights. Jamal Crawford has the best move even on a video game.. (NBA2k) Here are the two highlights of Jamal from this year.. Also his move on the video game and in real life.. First this was last night on Ray Allen...
From time to time, I find myself going through surf Youtube for basketball videos, different artist videos. Some how through my clicking I came across this Documentary on Young Jeezy. The Documentary is only about 40 mins long but gives some incite into his life. Starting at an early age and fast forwarding to the present.. Its narrated by the great Samuel L. Jackson. The documentary features, Jay-z, Diddy, as well as many few others. Check it out..
Sorry about my absence, but its been a busy few weeks for me..
At any rate there was a new J. Cole release yesterday. J. Cole gives us a track of the upcoming mixtape. Miss America is the name of this track and it can be downloaded on Itunes. If your a Cole fan as much as I am you will sure spend the few pennies to download it.. Its a little different than your typical Cole tracks but still good just the same. The art work for this is pretty dope, but simple as well..
On another note I have to give mad respect to Kendrick Lamar. That album is still banging in my car.. It made me go back and even listen to some older Kendrick.. If you dont have Section 80 or Overly Dedicated go check this old titles out by Kendrick. But make sure you grab that Good Kid M.A.D.D. City album. I think its top this year..
